You can’t change a dog’s past,

but you could rewrite his future.

Our Foster Dogs

How we became fosters

One evening as we were making dinner my oldest son was like "Mom! There's a dog outside!" I went out and looked and there was a poor skinny looking dog roaming around our yard. I came back in and told my fiance and he came out to help. We decided to take him in after having him checked for a microchip and there was none. We nursed him back to health and he is now in a loving happy home. We decided to open up our home to other dogs in need and now work with One of a Kind Pets as fosters.

Sad Facts about Animals

2.7 million

Each year, approximately 2.7 million dogs and cats are killed every year because shelters are too full and there aren’t enough adoptive homes.

That’s an animal every 13 seconds.

3.9 million

Around 3.9 million dogs are abandoned or given up to shelters each year.

500,000

Approximately 500,000 dogs are currently kept solely for breeding purposes in puppy mills.

250,000

About 250,000 animals annually are found to be victims of animal hoarding, with most living in unsanitary conditions.

“Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.”
